How You Can Save Trees Through Online Faxing?

Are you aware of the fact that forty percent of the national landfill is filled with paper? You may think that paper is relatively cheap, so you can throw it away whenever you want. Since they are made from trees and are biodegradable, you may believe that landfills do not have any problem. Paper can be biodegradable, but that doesn't mean the whole process is good for you or the environment.

The ink on the paper can be made from harmful ingredients, and it can spoil the landfills and contaminate the surrounding land. If it burns, it releases toxic gases into the air. The process of making paper can also be harmful. The chemicals used to bleach the pulp are very dangerous and pollute the air and water. Deforestation can create severe impacts on the ecosystem.

Now let us consider fax machines. Fax machines use a large amount of paper. Mostly, all faxes have just a little bit of information, which someone quickly reads and then throws in the trash.

How You Can Save Trees Through Online Faxing?

Online faxing can give you complete control over what you print and what you don't. You are using the web interface to read the received fax. You can quickly press the "Print" button if something is essential—no need to print unwanted pages or cover pages. If you are not sure if you need a particular fax, you can print it later.

Keep your environment green by saving trees.

Did you know that a 15-year-old tree makes only half a box of paper? By switching to electronic faxing, you can save a tree every year. Using the Internet to send faxes will also reduce the amount of paper your business operates, as all documents can be received, sent, and edited by a computer.

It is estimated that we would save 73.5 million trees if we run only 1% of paper faxes through Internet faxes every year.

In addition to using paper, the fax machine also requires stationary ink cartridges. Unfortunately, these cartridges become solid waste and take 450 years to decompose into landfills.

There are many reasons to provide digital services in place of paper, from safety to efficiency, but the environmental impact is often overlooked.

Digital services like email, cloud storage, and online fax save paper. But how much paper is saved by using these services?

According to some estimates, an average office throws away about 350 pounds of paper per employee per year.

Google estimates that sending faxes over the Internet can reduce paper usage compared to the initial fax machines because all the processes such as sending, editing, and receiving can be performed on your computer or mobile device.

One ton of paper (200,000 sheets) requires 20,312 gallons (76,889 liters) of water.

A 10% reduction in paper consumption would prevent 1.6 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions - the equivalent of 280,000 cars off the road.

Switching to online faxing is a revolutionary way to save on paper costs. With internet faxing, you can set up an account with a provider like FaxitFast, after which you and your employees can send and receive virtual faxes via any computer or mobile device. It's fast, secure, and completely paperless. And remember how much paper a traditional fax machine can use.
